The Berceuse is one of the first pieces composed by Bridge, written while studying at the Royal College of Music in London in 1901. The Berceuse was Bridge’s first real success and his first published work which he subsequently made arrangements of for various other media – violin and piano, violin and strings, small orchestra, large orchestra and piano solo.
